“Creating awareness, imparting education and working towards prevention of cancer among the people.”

A battle with cancer is probably the toughest to imagine, and it doesn’t end when you reach the doctor.

We want to bring a real difference in the current health scenario of our society. For this, we have created an outreach program that focuses on prevention and early detection of cancer. Our aim is to bring this awareness to place where people live and spend their lives.

For a society to fight cancer, we all need to be informed about its cause and what we can do to reduce the risk of cancer. We need to take action to prevent cancer but when cancer occurs, we need to detect it early.

The outreach programme at Onkaulogy Kombine is dedicated to helping society learn more about the causes of cancer and the risk factors involved. We inform and educate people about healthy behaviours and lifestyles to reduce cancer risks and even prevent some cancers. But if it occurs, we hope to make it easier for them to get the right tests and treatments.

Onkaulogy Kombine has a core team which is specialised in treating breast cancer and hence we have a number of Outreach Programmes organised under the Breast Cancer Patients Benefits Fund (BCPBF) umbrella;

  • Training & Fellowships for Doctors & Nurses: The Fellowships and Trainings Program at Onkaulogy Kombine ventures to train and certify surgeons and physicians from under serviced areas, in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of common cancers. We focus on selective candidates who are likely to return to where they belong and offer these newly acquired services to their people.
  • CME: Through, its programme ‘Knowledge at your doorstep’ our centre has undertaken promoting interaction between cancer specialists and surgeons of Delhi and NCR, with leading Breast Cancer experts. Under this programme, various C.M.E’s have been conducted for primary physicians and health providers at Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad, East Delhi, Ghaziabad, Jammu.
  • Public Awareness lectures:We have organized at various places for members / staff at the Masonic Club, Delhi Commonwealth Women Association, Hutch, O&M Advertising Agency, CMC, IMA-Dehradoon, and Tata Consultancy Services (Gurgaon, Noida, and Connaught Place).  A Special lecture by an eminent cancer specialist on ‘Defeating Breast Cancer’ was organized at Bahai Auditorium followed by Sufi music.
  • Cancer Conferences: In order to emphasize on the role of Non-Governmental and private sector in Healthcare delivery, we, in collaboration with Afghan Doctors Association, organized the ‘Himalayan Cancer Congress 2008’ at the Intercontinental Hotel, Kabul which was attended by cancer specialists from India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey.
    • UICC World Cancer Congress
    • Himalayan Cancer Congress 2008
